Qingchun Shen, born in Macheng,Hubei province, PhD, Professor, Master's Supervisor.
Education:
He graduated from Huazhong Agricultural University with a bachelor degree of biotechnology in 1997, June, and awarded the master degree in Huazhong Agricultural University with the major of preventive veterinary medicine in 2000. followed by the PhD degree in Chinese Agricultural University in 2010. Currently, Prof. Shen serves as the director of Department of Veterinary Science, Institute of Animal Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
Experience:
2000.7-2022.3, in China Institute of Veterinary Drug Control (IVDC), Prof. Shen mainly focused on the prevention & control of mycoplasmal animal disease and development of veterinary biologicals. In 2012, he was assigned to Beijing Zhonghai Biotechnology Co., Ltd., an enterprise affiliated to the Central Supervision Institute, as Deputy General Manager. In 2019, he backed to the Brucellosis National / OIE reference Laboratory of IVDC.
2022.3-Now, in Institute Animal Sciences of CAAS, Prof. Shen is engaged in basic research on mycoplasma and brucellosis, zoonosis epidemiology, prevention and control technology and bioinformatics.
Research Interests and Achievements
Prof. Shen has long been committed to prevention & control of respiratory animal disease, the pathogenic including M.hyopneumoniae , M.synoviae, PRRSV and Classic Swine Fever Virus for decades, and has acquired series of original scientific achievements. He had obtained 4 new veterinary drug certificates, 3 national / industry standards, and 8 patent certificates (4 for the first inventor) and won 3 ministerial prizes.
The main achievements are as follows:
1. As a core contributor, we solved the difficulties in vaccination of live porcine mycoplasma pneumonia vaccine, large side effects and difficult balance between immunogenicity and safety of live porcine blue ear vaccine, successfully developed two kinds of live vaccines and transferred 11 enterprises; the live classical swine fever vaccine (passage cell source) has been produced in 19 enterprises.
2. Two new methods for vaccine testing, the establishment of mycoplasma PCR test method solved the problem of poor timeliness of mycoplasma test in veterinary biological products, and the general CCU50 method for accurate counting of mycoplasma live bacteria was reported for the first time, which solved the problem of lack of accurate determination technology of mycoplasma live bacteria titer.
