Institute of Animal Science (IAS) of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) established in 1957. It is a national animal husbandry scientific research institution.IAS focuses on national food safety, effective supply of animal products, and high-quality development of animal husbandry. The institute carries out research in the field of animal genetic resources and breeding, animal biotechnology and reproduction, animal nutrition and feed, pratacultural science, veterinary medicine, and animal product quality and safety It emphasizes on solving the major scientific and technological problems for national animal husbandry industry, and makes all efforts to promote scientific and technological innovation, international cooperation, achievements transformation, personnel training and the construction of think tank.IAS has a strong scientific research team, comprising 182 investigators, including 2 academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and more than 30 national talents. IAS has more than 600 graduate students and about 46 postdoctoral fellows.
