I got B.S. in Agronomy from Shandong Agricultural University in 2000; M.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2004; Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science from South Dakota State University (USA) in 2008. I had been the Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Michigan State University (USA) from 2008 to 2013. I had been the Professor in the College of Life Sciences of Qingdao Agricultural University from 2013-2021. I am the Professor in the Institute of Animal Sciences of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences from 2021.
As independent PI, I have had being in charge of almost ten grants including: the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Returned Overseas Studies Fund Program of the Ministry of Education, International cooperation projects (Murdoch University) recently. My main research work is focusing on male reproductive health, molecular mechanism of spermatogenesis, beneficial gut microbiota improving spermatogenesis and increasing male fertility. The “Gut microbiota-testis” axis was confirmed with the correlation of intestinal microbes and male fertility. I have published more than 80 SCI articles (As the corresponding author, two articles in GUT/IF=31.793, one article in Microbiome/IF=14.65, two articles in Microbiology Spectrum/IF=9.043; As first author, one article in Theranostics/IF=11.556; one article in Mucosal Immunology/7.313). Eight patents have been authorized (6 of 8 first inventor), and four patents are the natural products to improve the semen quality and three patents are the beneficial microbes to increase semen quality. In 2019, I won the second prize of Shandong Provincial University Science and Technology Award (Ranking 1).
