Personal information
PhD Ran Di, Associate Professor, Master Supervisor. She received her BSc degree in Animal Medicine from Qingdao Agricultural University (2002); and received her PhD degree in Animal Genetics & Breeding from Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (2008). She is a key member in mutton sheep and goat genetics and breeding team. She is mainly engaged in animal genetic evolution, evaluation of sheep germplasm resources, molecular mechanism analysis of important traits and breeding of new breeds of mutton sheep. A member of the council, Sheep and goat branch, Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (CAAV). She has won the Travel Bursary Award, 31st International Society for Animal Genetics Conference, in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Research area & Awards
Since 2008, she has been mainly engaged in animal genetic evolution, evaluation of sheep germplasm resources, molecular mechanism analysis of important traits and breeding of new breeds of mutton sheep. She has published more than 200 papers in many journals, such as Animal Genetics, BMC Genomics, Frontiers in Genetics, Biology, Reproduction Fertility and Development, Journal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, including 18 papers as first author and 30 papers as corresponding author. She was authorized 15 national invention patents, including four as the top two finishers. She is the editors of SCI journals such as Frontiers in Genetics, Biology and Frontiers in Veterinary Science.
She participated in the breeding of new breeds of mutton sheep-Luzhong mutton sheep, and a new breed certificate was obtained in 2020. She won the second prize of the Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award, ranked fourth, 2022, “Precise uncovering of high fecundity traits and the integrated application of supporting technologies for industrialization in meat sheep” and the third prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award, ranked seventh, 2013, “Screening and application of molecular genetic markers involved in reproductive traits of sheep and goat”
