Yulian Mu, Ph.D., Professor, Doctoral supervisor. Professor Mu received her B.S. degree from Hebei Agricultural University in 1999, M.S. degree from Hebei Agricultural University in 2002, and Ph.D. degree from Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2009. Professor Mu has been working at the Institute of Animal Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences since 2002. Professor Mu is the backbone expert of pig genetic engineering and germplasm innovation team and the group leader of Pig Genetic Engineering and Material Innovation Group now. She is also one of the executive directors of the 10th Council of the Animal Reproduction Branch of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.
Research Direction and Achievements
Professor Mu has been devoted to the research of gene-editing technology of pigs, pig breeding material creation and breeding of Wuzhishan mini-pig inbred line, etc. She has published more than 40 SCI papers in journals like Trends in Biotechnology, National Science Review, Science China-Life Sciences, eLife, Redox Biology etc. She also has participated in the formulation of 4 national, local and/or industry standards; granted 14 national invention patents and 1 utility model patent, 2 US invention patents. She has received 7 awards including the First Prize of Chinese Agricultural Science and Technology, the Second Prize of Hainan Science and Technology, and the Second Prize of Beijing Science and Technology etc.
