The team faces the major national needs of China's grass and pasture industry and ecological civilization construction, and benchmarking with international research frontiers of forage germplasm resources, and focuses on the collection, conservation, evaluation and utilization of important forage germplasm resources such as alfalfa, oats, as well as the molecular mechanism of forage resistance and quality traits and molecular breeding research, in order to meet the major national needs of China's grass and pasture industry and ecological civilization construction. The main research directions of the team include the collection and preservation, evaluation, identification and innovative utilization of forage germplasm resources, as well as the discovery and functional research of important forage superior genetic resources. The team currently has 5 offical staff, 4 research assistants, and 11 graduate students.
