The Waterfowl Breeding and Nutrition Science and Technology Innovation Team is mainly engaged in waterfowl breeding, nutrition and breeding technology research. The team has created an efficient breeding technology system for meat ducks, leading China’s meat duck breeding technology achieved the international leading level, developed three new breeds, “Z-type Peking Duck”, which is suitable for processing Peking Duck, “ZhongXu Grassland White Feather Meat Duck”, which is suitable for whole duck food processing, and “Zhongxin White Feather Meat Duck”, which is suitable for split food processing, and their national occupation rate of market have reached 40%, which breaked the monopoly of foreign breeds. The new breed of Peking duck for roast duck has reached about 50% of occupation rate of market in Beijing. At the same time, the team developed a “Meat Duck Breeding Standard” (NY/T2122), which promote the standardization of China's meat duck industry.
