The Veterinary Medicine Research Laboratory aims to solve major scientific problems and important technical needs in the prevention and control of major zoonotic diseases, pet diseases and exotic animal diseases, and has continued to play an innovative role in the research on the etiology of bovine tuberculosis, canine distemper and African swine fever, the development of new vaccines and the creation of diagnostic products. The laboratory have achieved a series of important scientific research achievements, such as “1FN-F ELISA test kit for bovine tuberculosis” and “Canine parvovirus combined activate vaccine”, cultivated a number of high-level professional talents, and provided source innovation and technical support to enhance the prevention and control capability of animal diseases in China, which has strongly guaranteed food safety, ecological safety and public health safety in China and promoted the sustainable, stable and healthy development of modern animal husbandry. The main research interests include veterinary public health safety and management and pet disease prevention and control.
