China Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Medicine is a leading peer-reviewed journal, which is superintended by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and sponsored by Institute of Animal Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It was founded in 1974, formerly known as Animal Science Abroad , renamed as China Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Medicine in 2002. It covers nutrition and feed, physiology and biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics and breeding, basic veterinary medicine, preventive veterinary medicine and clinical veterinary medicine, etc.

In 2017-2022, it was elected as the vice president unit of Journal Editorial Branch of Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (CAAV) for two consecutive times.
In 2018, we cooperated with the Key Laboratory of Publishing Integration Development (Wuhan) of the National Press and Publication Administration and participated in the Open Science Identity (OSID) program, which is benefit to build scientific research integrity, promote the exchange and dissemination of scientific research and expand the influence of the journal's papers.
In recent years, the evaluation indicators of China Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Medicine have been continuously increasing, and the impact factors have ranked among the top in the national animal husbandry and veterinary science journals. In 2022, its CNKI impact factors reached a new high, rising from 1.474 in 2021 to 1.667.
China Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Medicine is published monthly, each issue with a size of 16 sheets. The cost is 50 RMB (monthly) or 600 RMB (yearly).
