On March 15th, 2024, professor Frank Monahan, Dean of the School of Agriculture and Food Science of University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland, with other three colleagues visit IAS.  Professor Zhang Junmin, General Director of IAS, Professor Zhou Zhengkui, Deputy Director of IAS, Professor Jia Yaxiong, Division Chief of Division of Science and Technology Management, Mr. Wang Haoyu, Division Chief of the Graduate Work Office and Professor Bu Dengpan, Principle Investigator of Ruminant Nutrition Research Team attended the meeting.

Professor Zhang Junmin extended a warm welcome to the visitors from UCD and highlighted the importance and the achievement of the cooperation between China and Ireland, especially in agriculture. Here, based on the China-Ireland Dairy Sustainable Development Center, a big research progress on dairy and animal husbandry was made during the last ten years, and even with a success in high-level young talents training. More and more cooperation between IAS and UCD should be done in the future to deeply promote the well development of animal husbandry for both China and Ireland to contribute the sustainable system for agriculture in the world.

Professor Monahan acknowledged the fruitful outcomes of the long-term collaboration and expressed his gratitude for the ongoing partnership and hope to extend the cooperation areas to build a global "One Health" system from both sides.

A review of the achievements of the China-Ireland Dairy Sustainable Development Center for the past ten years and the cooperation for guiding the PhD candidates was deeply discussed and a potential agreement on technical and academic was made in the meeting.

The visit of the delegation from UCD was a successful and meaningful event for the collaboration in the future for IAS and UCD.
