Education Background
He got his Bachelor Degree (Jan.1982) from College of Agronomy, Shanxi Agricultural University, China, his MSc degree (1984) from College of Animal Science, China Agricultural University and PhD degree (1993) from College of Biology of Northeast Normal University, China.
He worked as Post Doctor Researcher in Michigan State University (1998-2000) USA; He worked as visiting scholar in Grassland Division, DSIR, New Zealand (1987-1988),
Research Area and Achievements
He is chief scientist of the Forage Genetic Resources group, IAS, CAAS. He is head of Key Lab. for Forage Genetic Improvement and Utilization, CAAS, China.
His research areas focus on: The Collection, evaluation and utilization of forage genetic resources.
He collected the more than 12000 accession of forage genetic resources. He was major breeder of 4 varieties of forage crops.He published more than 150 research papers and articles. He published 8 books as major author. He won 4 Scientific Prizes, such as the second prize of scientific and technology progress in China, the first prize of progress of science and technology of Shanxi Province, the second prize of progress of science and technology of Shanxi Province.
